DUCO awarded prestigious European quality label
In June DUCO officially received the Qualicoat quality label recognised throughout Europe. With this top-rank label Qualicoat is certifying DUCO’s process and product quality in the area of powder coating on aluminium sections and components.
This means that this ventilation and sun control specialist is one of the few companies in the construction sector able to demonstrate in black and white that powder coating is being applied in accordance with European standards.
“Qualicoat is an independent agency based in Zürich dedicated to achieving high-quality coating on aluminium utilised in the construction sector. Qualicoat quality specifications are a series of minimum requirements with which the production facility, pre-treatment, paint systems and the coated products must comply”, claims Hendrik Dejonghe, marketing manager at DUCO in his opening remarks. “During an unannounced inspection, an inspection agency under Qualicoat supervision tested not only process quality but also product quality against the most stringent requirements. The results were highly successful for all tests.”
High quality standard
The comprehensive requirements and tests that Qualicoat applies gives DUCO’s customers the assurance that they are purchasing a product that meets a high quality standard. DUCO’s products are suitable for application even in the corrosive atmospheres occurring in coastal and industrial areas. “These conditions usually raise doubts with clients regarding the use of painted aluminium in architecture”, explains Hendrik Dejonghe. “That is why with DUCO they have the option from now on of specifying powder coating in accordance with the standards set out in ‘Seaside Class’. This new class which has been introduced by Qualicoat, affords added corrosion resistance and is aimed specifically at corrosive atmospheres.”
