Project overview: Sustainable living on the edge of veurne

Residentie Vue is an energy-efficient new-build development of 39 modern flats located on the edge of Veurne. This ambitious residential project combines comfort, sustainability and modern technology in a unique setting. Each flat features a spacious terrace, whilst the penthouses enjoy generous roof terraces with panoramic views of the city or the beautiful communal inner garden.

The south-facing inner garden forms the heart of the development and is densely planted with tall trees, shrubs and lawns. Garden paths lead residents through this green oasis, where they can relax on benches in the shade. All flats are nearly energy-neutral and equipped with advanced technologies such as geothermal heat pumps, underfloor heating, high-performance glazing and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.

The choice of MVHR units: Technical excellence and comfort

For Residentie Vue, the deliberate choice was made to install DUCO’s advanced DucoBox Energy Comfort MVHR units. This choice was made on account of the excellent performance and the enhanced living comfort that these systems deliver compared to traditional ventilation systems.

Benefits of the DucoBox Energy Comfort: Zonal ventilation as a game-changer

One of the greatest advantages of MVHR units such as the DucoBox Energy Comfort is the ability to apply zonal ventilation. Unlike traditional systems that treat a home as a single entity, DUCO’s zonal ventilation treats each room as a separate zone. This means ventilation only occurs where and when it is needed.

This intelligent approach delivers significant benefits:

• Energy savings of up to 40 %: By ventilating only where people are present, the systems consume considerably less energy. Just as you switch off the light when leaving a room, the ventilation system automatically drops to minimum operation in unoccupied spaces.
• Noise reduction of 30 %: Because the systems do not need to work as hard, they produce considerably less noise. The MEV units therefore remain unobtrusive and do not disturb the living environment.
• No window vents necessary: Unlike MEV ventilation systems, MVHR units require no installation of window vents. This results in a cleaner aesthetic and better insulation.

Intelligent ventilation in action

The system adapts automatically to the daily routine of the residents. In the morning it detects moisture in the bathroom and ventilates only there during showering. When residents leave the home, the system switches to a minimum operation of 10 %. Upon return, the system responds to cooking in the kitchen by ventilating only there, whilst in the evening the living room is ventilated based on CO₂ readings. In the bedrooms, the quiet system provides fresh air without disturbing night-time comfort.

Technical support: Duco Installation App

Installation of the MVHR units is significantly simplified by the Duco Installation App. This professional application supports installers during and after the installation of DucoBox systems.

Use of the app requires a Duco Installation Kit, which establishes a local Point-to-Point Wi-Fi connection with the DucoBox. This kit can easily be ordered via the DUCO webshop.
