Pavillon STEEL: A dynamic façade that breathes innovation

Pavillon STEEL in Saint-Étienne combines spectacular architecture with environmental performance thanks to DUCO's DucoWall Screening system. With 82% less carbon emissions, this continuous louvre wall transforms 70,000 m² of façades into a luminous metallic mesh that breathes innovation.

Pavillon STEEL: A dynamic façade that breathes innovation

An iconic architectural project in Saint-Étienne

Located at the main entrance to Saint-Étienne, along the A72 motorway, STEEL stands as a spectacular contemporary architectural landmark. With its 70,000 m² of retail and leisure spaces, this project redefines the retail experience whilst creating a genuine urban park that integrates biodiversity and nature.

The architecture of Pavillon STEEL is distinguished by its spectacular roof that dialogues with the lines of the Saint-Étienne landscape, directing perspectives towards the city centre. But it is above all its envelope that captivates: the façades are clad with a metallic and luminous mesh, specially created by designer Joran Briand, giving the building a unique and recognisable identity.

DucoWall Screening: The alliance of aesthetics and functionality

To bring this bold architectural vision to life, DUCO contributed its expertise with the DucoWall Screening system, a continuous louvre wall perfectly suited to large façade surfaces.

This system offers an ideal privacy screening solution that meets the aesthetic requirements of the project whilst ensuring exceptional technical performance. The continuous louvre wall creates a play of horizontal lines that amplifies the visual effect of the metallic mesh imagined by Joran Briand, whilst guaranteeing optimal natural ventilation and effective solar protection.

The rapid installation of the DucoWall Screening system also made it possible to meet the tight deadlines of a project of this scale, whilst maintaining impeccable execution quality.

A concrete environmental commitment

Beyond its aesthetic and functional qualities, the choice of DucoWall Screening is part of a sustainable construction approach. With production generating 82% less carbon emissions compared to standard aluminium cladding (48.9 kg eq CO2/m² versus 276.0 kg eq CO2/m²), this system contributes significantly to reducing the environmental footprint of Pavillon STEEL.

This performance makes DUCO an ideal partner for ambitious architectural projects that place environmental excellence at the heart of their concerns.

STEEL: Where iconic architecture and environmental responsibility meet

Pavillon STEEL demonstrates that architectural impact and environmental excellence can perfectly coexist. Thanks to DucoWall Screening, this project becomes a reference in contemporary cladding, proving that DUCO solutions support the most daring architectures whilst respecting tomorrow's challenges.
